The Manor House in Wickstadt is a listed property in Hesse, about half-an-hour’s drive north of Frankfurt. It was built in 1792 by the Cistercian monks of Arnsburg Abbey as the summer residence of the Arnsburg abbots.
The former domain of Wickstadt is a court estate and has remained in the possession of Arnsburg Abbey for centuries since 1231. After the Reformation, Wickstadt formed a Catholic enclave in the Wetterau until secularisation in 1803.
In recent decades, Wickstadt has increasingly become a meeting place for artists, writers and intellectuals. Art and Culture in the Manor House follows this tradition as a gallery, meeting place and residence of the artist Shadi Ganz and her family.
