Georg Weise became well-known primarily for his figurative motifs, which are mostly rooted in his childhood and youth memories. In his works, he conveys to the viewer a world between loneliness and loss, longing and romance.
He has turned his hypersensitivity into an advantage, transforming what might be perceived as a weakness into a strength.
The title of this exhibition, “Bycatch,” is to be understood in this context.
Georg’s overflow of emotions creates, as a ‘bycatch’, great art - a unique body of paintings, drawings, and sculptures that has been exhibited more than 80 times worldwide.
